Dear All, We are searching for the qualified psychologist to work with students at Nazarbayev University. Key and functional tasks of the position: Carries out professional activities aimed at ensuring psychic, somatic and social welfare of the students in the process of education and learning Defines factors that prevent development of the students’ personality, takes measures for rendering various kinds of psychological aid Assists the students, their parents (guardians), employees, faculty in solving psychological and educational problems Makes psychological and educational conclusions on research materials to focus faculty’s as well as parents’ (guardians’)attention on the problems of personal and social enhancement of the students Provides psychological diagnosis of various profile and purposes Examines psychological state of the students, their individual qualities and peculiarities of academic process, analyses psychological state of the students during the studies Plans, develops and implements the development and correction programs with account of individual, sex, and age peculiarities of the students’ individuality, assists the development of commitment in various conditions of life and professional self-determination Forms psychological culture of the students, employees, faculty of the University Makes draft plans and programs for social development, determines psychological factors that influence the students in order to elaborate measures for improving their academic progress and efficiency of the Educational Conception Analyses performance related to educational work, assists in preparing consolidated reports of the Department Determines the most relevant issues and problems which require immediate actions (progress, attendance, violations of the Conduct Code and etc.), ways of eliminating the reasons Holds psychological trainings and seminars for the students; prevents negative social phenomena Introduces new technical and methodical technologies Provides comprehensive informational support to the students Studies and analyses practice of other institutions of higher institutions related to professional issues, makes proposals on use of experience and improving Liaisons with other departments of the University to improve the student life Main requirements: Higher professional education; master’s degree from a North American, European, or American style university is preferable. Three years of professional experience in higher education, with one year of experience related to students services. Work experience in the areas relevant to the functional responsibilities of a given position. Demonstrated experience working with diverse populations in a multicultural environment. A proven record in working successfully with diverse populations, students, youth organizations, parents and faculty. Good oral and written command of English, Kazakh, Russian languages is required Proficiency in data base packages related to student services, including Microsoft Office and Access Understanding of report generation software associated with students services.
