The Washington Post.
Putin against Trump, the coordinated secret game, who the director?
Russia-U.S. relations have reached a new, tougher point – Cold War era – which can affect several countries, including Armenia, an Armenian academician said on Friday.
“Russia-U.S. tensions will not escalate into a "hot" war currently, since the Russian leadership, however strange it may sound, is beneficial to the United States. The conflict between Russia and the U.S. looks like a pre-planned, secret game. If it is not the case, how can you explain the deal reached between the two states to establish ceasefire in southern Syria in favour of Israel? It is quite clear that the sides have formed a close bilateral alliance,” President of Academy of Geopolitics, Academician Arayik Sargsyan said at a news conference held in Yerevan, Armenia.
Meantime the expert expressed conviction that the U.S. sanctions imposed on Russia actually have one objective: the United States intends to maintain dominant position on the European gas markets and supply its gas to Europe.
“Trump has come to power through the help of the U.S. special services, with strong confrontation existing between the globalists and nationalists inside the country,” the speaker added.
Reflecting on the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict settlement, Mr. Sargsyan highlighted that the international recognition of Karabakh will lead to raising the level of sovereignty of the Republic of Armenia.
